Bawan Co. received a credit note, amounting to SAR 9.6 million, from the insurance company in connection to the fire incident at a factory of one of its subsidiaries, ARNON Plastic Industries Co., according to a bourse statement.

The credit note represents partial payment from the existing claim, the statement added.

The proceeds will be used to finance the purchase and installation of the production line that was damaged in the fire. The production line is expected to start operation by Q3 2021, as the management decided to install it in its factory located in Jeddah.

The firm also expects to re-operate the factory that caught fire, in Dammam, during Q1 2022.

The financial impact of the fire will be announced after completion of all procedures related to the existing insurance claim with the insurance company, the statement noted.

In February 2020, Bawan announced that a fire broke out at one of the factories of its affiliate ARNON Plastic Industries Co. in Dammam, Argaam earlier reported.
