Carrier registration ceremony

The Transport General Authority (TGA) announced, today, Aug. 30, registering National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia’s (Bahri) Alanood carrier in the Saudi Navy.

On its official Twitter account, the authority expressed pleasure about flying the Saudi flag on Alanood carrier, which increases the navy's tonnage and boosts the Kingdom's position as a leading logistics hub.

In August 2017, Bahri Dry Bulk Co., which is 60% owned by Bahri, signed contracts worth $120 million with Hyundai Heavy Industries, to build four bulk carriers, according to data compiled by Argaam.

Bahri received, in May 2020, the new dry-bulk carrier ‘Sara' from Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding (HVS). The company also took delivery of its new dry-bulk carriers ‘Alanood’ and 'AlJazi' carriers in August and September 2020, respectively.
