Qassim Governor inaugurates SAR 272 mln SPIMACO-AstraZeneca factory

Governor of Al-Qassim, Faisal bin Mishaal

Governor of Qassim Region, Faisal bin Mishaal, inaugurated a new plant for producing of hazardous drugs, in partnership with global pharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca, at a total cost of SAR 272 million.

 

This came during Qassim Investment Forum held at King Khalid Civilization Center in Buraydah.

 

The plant spans 2,800 square meters, and is considered an industrial unit launched by Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Appliances Corp. (SPIMACO).

 

The new plant has three floors, including manufacturing and packaging zones, a laboratory for quality control and quality assurance and technical services' zone that includes a water treatment system and wastewater treatment in line with international requirements for the manufacture of hazardous drugs.
