Saudi Kayan completes scheduled maintenance of some units

Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Co. (Saudi Kayan) completed the scheduled maintenance of some production units and planned gradual restart of these units.

 

The maintenance will have a positive impact on the reliability and operating efficiency of the company's plants, Saudi Kayan said in a statement to Tadawul, today, April 16.

 

All required maintenance work was completed with no change in the financial impact that was announced earlier.

 

In January, the petrochemical producer announced that it will shut down some of its production units from March 1 until April 14, 2023, for scheduled periodic maintenance, Argaam reported.

 

It planned to close the ethylene glycol/oxide unit for 28 days, the polycarbonate unit for 40 days and the phenolic unit for 20 days. The amines and ethoxylate units were scheduled to close for 28 days.

 

It expected a financial impact of SAR 147 million based on average selling prices in the first half of 2023.
