The Local Content and Government Procurement Authority (LCGPA) signed four agreements to localize the industry and transfer knowledge, which include the pharmaceutical preparation Sitagliptin Phosphate with Jamjoom Pharma and MSD Co., and the pharmaceutical preparation Ticagrelor with Aja Pharma Pharmaceutical Industries and the Saudi Arabian Japanese Co. (Saja).

The authority’s CEO Abdulrahman Al-Sammari said that the concluded agreements confirm the sustainable partnership between the government and the private sectors to develop local content, stressing the authority’s commitment to adding products to the mandatory list in accordance with the requirements of the agreement, as they will benefit all government and state-owned agencies, and government agencies’ hospitals to which the mandatory list mechanism applies.

He also pointed out that the financial impact of the localization of pharmaceutical preparations exceeds SAR 250 million over ten years for all agreements, highlighting LCGPA’s endeavor to introduce new industries and sectors in the Kingdom and strengthen supply chains for products, in addition to achieving self-sufficiency in the Kingdom.
