Saleh Al-Zuwayed Spokesperson for TGA
The Transport General Authority (TGA) plans mandatory localization of certain professions in the transportation and logistics services sector, as part of its initiative until 2025, TGA’s Spokesperson Saleh Al-Zuwayed said.
Ten professions were fully localized in the transportation and logistics services sector, which include the copilot, air controller and dispatcher and road safety engineering professions. This also covered postal services, parcel transport and shipping activities, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported.
A total of 30 agreements were signed with the private sector to support drivers of heavy transport vehicles and buses. Moreover, many incentives and agreements are offered to corporates or nationals in the sector. For instance, the Human Resources Development Fund (HADAF) provides financial support of up to SAR 2,400 for drivers in rise-hailing applications and SAR 3,000 for delivery application workers, he added.
