Saudi Aramco invites bids for offshore gas field expansion

22/10/2015 Argaam

State-owned energy giant Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) has invited engineering companies to submit bids by the end of November for the expansion of its offshore Hasbah sour gas field, Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) reported, citing unnamed sources close to the matter.

The United States’ Dynamic Industries and McDermott, India’s Larsen & Toubro, Singapore’s Emas and Italy-based Saipem have been prequalified to bid for the engineering,

procurement and construction (EPC) tender as part of a Long-Term Agreement (LTA) signed earlier this year.

The bid deadline was previously extended to the end of next month from an earlier date, as firms needed more time to prepare their offers.

The Hasbah expansion will boost the field’s capacity by two million cubic feet per day (cf/d) which will be piped to the company’s onshore Fadhili gas plant.

Saudi Aramaco may approach LTA companies with another project possibility by the end of this year, MEED added.
