Saudi Aramco and Lanxess, a German specialty chemicals company, have named the executive team of their 50/50 joint venture, Arlanxeo.

Ali Babaidhan and Fayez Alsharef will represent Saudi Aramco as chief financial officer and chief procurement officer, respectively, while Johan Gerrese will be the general counsel and secretary.

Lanxess will be represented by Jan Paul de Vries as chief executive and Jorge Nogueira as an executive board member.

The new synthetic rubber company will be headquartered in Maastricht, Netherlands. The launch date is slated for April 1, 2016.

On Sept. 22 last year, both companies signed an agreement to create a joint venture for the development, production, marketing and sales of synthetic rubber used for the global tire industry and other applications.
