31/05/2017 Argaam

Saudi International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem) started on Tuesday scheduled periodic maintenance at its vinyl acetate monomer plant, which is owned by its subsidiary, the International Vinyl Acetate Co. (IVC).

The turnaround maintenance process will be completed within three weeks, the company said in a bourse statement on Wednesday.

The maintenance came as part of the company’s 2017 business plans, and is expected to enhance production efficiency at IVC.

Sipchem added that it will announce the related financial impact once the maintenance is complete, expecting it to show in Q2 2017.

The company has taken the necessary precautions to fulfill commitments to customers without interruption during this period.

IVC is 87 percent-owned by Sipchem.
