Middle East Paper Co. (MEPCO) reported a net profit of SAR 43.6 million in the first nine months of 2017, a 59.3 decline year-on-year (YoY), mainly due to a SAR 92 million net gain on claim for expropriated land and premises recorded in the same period last year.

Net profit for the third quarter jumped to SAR 22.2 million from around SAR 2.3 million a year earlier, on the back of higher sales, higher average selling prices, and lower financing costs. Moreover, the net loss reported in Q3 2016 was changed to net profit due to IFRS adjustments.

 

Q3 net profit rose 22.2 percent compared to the previous quarter on an increase in sales and lower cost of finance.
