Saudi Cement Company’s H1 net profit fell 49.41 percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 259 million, mainly due to lower sales and weak local demand for cement, the company said in a statement.

Q2 2017 net profit fell 62.25 percent YoY to SAR 94 million, also due to lower sales and declining demand. The cement maker’s net share from associates and other income also declined.

 

When compared to the previous quarter, Q2 net profit fell 43 percent due to a decrease in sales quantities and value as a result of weak local demand, a drop in other income, and higher Islamic financial charges.
