Almarai Co. (ALMARAI)

Almarai Company, one of the largest diaries producers in the Gulf region, reported a net profit of SAR 344 million for Q1 2018, a 5 percent year-on-year (YoY) increase, which was attributed to improvement in poultry segment and a turnaround in infant nutrition segment.

The company also noted the improved performance of arable operations in Fondomote North and South America and the firm’s cost rationalization efforts to offset the “challenging market environment” within the GCC region.

On a sequential basis, Q1 net profit declined nearly 33 percent, mainly due to seasonality factors, the firm said.
