Emaar The Economic City (EMAAR EC)

Emaar the Economic City reported a net profit of SAR 310.5m for the nine months ended September 30, 2014, compared to a net profit of SAR 18.7m for the same period last year.

A net profit of SAR 47.8m was reported for Q1-2014 compared to SAR 212.8m for Q2.

The company attributed the increase of the first nine months of 2014’s net profit, compared to the same period last year, to the increase of sale of residential land, change in cost estimate of a residential project and completion of selling the entire port land to Ports Development Company.

The increase of Q3- 2014’s net profit, compared to the same period last year was attributed to the increase of sale of residential land and change in cost estimate of a residential project.

The decline of Q3- 2014’s net profit, compared to the previous period (Q2) was attributed to lower land sales in Q3 ended September 30, 2014.
